Welcome to my website. Here you will find images of my work. Most of the works
displayed here are landscape based. With landscapes I need to begin with a 'real
place' were I can make drawings and take photographs.This 'real place' has to
have some significance for me, something that I can respond to.
Back in my studio I begin working by focusing on simple formal elements such
as placing one colour next to another, one tone against another and so on. I am
trying to make the painting 'work' and that is all. In a way I am always painting
the same picture, it just happens to take different appearances. Anything else
that the viewer may perceive in my work is either due to his or her perceptions,
or things that have entered the painting as I have been working on it, but over
which I have no conscious control. | |
